How To Be A Healthy Vegetarian By Someone Who Has Been Vegetarian For 53 Years

 How To Be A Healthy Vegetarian By Someone Who Has Been Vegetarian For 53 Years

I have been a Vegetarian for 53 years.
I was a Vegan for 18 of those years.

PDFs

You can Download my “The Vegetarian Information Center Pamphlets” PDF, which has a lot of information on Vegetarian, Vegan, and related matters, from:

FROM DETOX TO DEFICIENCY

Vegan babies have died because of deficiencies in Vegan diets.

Other Vegan babies have become brain-damaged.

Short-term, Vegan diets, especially Raw Vegan diets, can be good Detox diets for adults.

But long-term, ill-health, is a major reason why almost all Vegans become ExVegans.

And, most current Vegans cheat.

To keep myself healthy, I base my adult diet on raw fruit, vegetables, nuts, Cow’s milk, and seaweed.

BECOMING A VEGETARIAN

I became a Vegetarian in 1971, now 53 years ago, because I like animals.

There was very little readily available information back then.

And so it took me about 3 years to find the information and learn how to be a healthy Vegetarian.

A few years after I had learned how to be a healthy Vegetarian, I started having a monthly dinner at a Vegetarian Restaurant, giving talks, writing pamphlets, and calling myself The Vegetarian Information Center.

EXVEGAN

I became a Vegan in 1992.

But, returned to drinking Cow's milk in 2010 because of damage to my teeth.

Something that is very common on Vegan diets.

HEALTHY

Ill-health, is a major reason why almost all Vegans become ExVegans.

Fortunately, most ExVegans recover their health, after adding animal products to their diets.

Sadly, most ExVegans go back to eating more than 1000 animals, instead of drinking milk, or eating yoghurt, from the equivalent of just 1 Cow.

For My Own Healthy Adult Diet, I Include:

1: Fresh, raw fruit;

2: Fresh, raw or lightly cooked in water, vegetables; including, some raw green, leafy vegetables;

3: Concentrated foods like nuts, walnuts are 6% omega-3, rolled oats, potatoes, sweet potatoes;

4: Animal-products such as Cow's milk, cheese, yoghurt;

[If you cannot digest Cow's milk you could eat ocean-caught sustainable Fish]

5: Some seaweed for trace elements.

Vitamin B12

Vegetarians should consider using sublingual vitamin B12 tablets.

You let these tablets dissolve under your tongue, so that some of the Vitamin B12 is absorbed directly, into your bloodstream.

Otherwise, unless you are Vegan, and so need further supplements, just eat real food, like everyone else has, since life began.

HUMANE

The average Australian Dairy Cow produces 5,500 litres of milk per year.

If you drank 4 litres of milk per week for 80 years, you would drink 16,640 litres of milk.

That is, you would effectively be keeping 1 Dairy-Cow, for 3 years.

With hormonally-induced lactation, there is no need to get Cows pregnant, to produce milk.

And, how many animals are buried alive by ploughs, and slashed alive by harvesters, to grow crops?

And, when Vegans cheat, they can kill and abuse more animals, in just one cheating meal, of a tin of Sardines, or a plate of cooked-alive Seafood, than an honest milk-drinking Vegetarian might in a lifetime.

WATER

The Water Footprint for Cow's milk, 1020, is the same as for orange juice, 1018.

GHGs

The carbon, in the carbon dioxide Cows breathe out, and the methane Cows belch out, comes from the plants they eat.

These plants, then take this carbon back out of the air, as they grow back again.

In a continuous cycle with no net increase.

DISCLAIMER and INDEMNITY

I am doing this for free and not as a business.

Information, that I provide you with, is my personal opinion, based on my personal experience.

Which includes my having been a Vegetarian for more than 50 years, including 18 consecutive years as a Vegan, and having managed my own health for more than 50 years.

10 Things Vegan Activists Do Not Want You To Know

10 Things Vegan Activists Do Not Want You To Know

I have been a Vegetarian for 50 years because I like animals.
I was a Vegan for 18 of those years.

So, I am interested in producing animal-products, such as milk, wool, eggs, humanely and sustainably.

This 2020 Update of my “Humane, Sustainable, Healthy Milk, Wool, And Eggs” PDF, at,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pQRjqK7Df5f9NGRQA81M_W5w_hQXJvDP/view
includes:

1: Cows Do Not Have To Get Pregnant To Produce Milk.

Since at least 1973, Cows and Goats, just like Women, who breast-feed their adopted Babies, do not need to get pregnant to lactate.
See: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022030273852439

2: Vegans Have Higher All-Cause Death-Rates.

Fish-eaters have an 18% lower all-cause death-rate than Vegans.
Vegetarians have a 16% lower all-cause death-rate than Vegans.

Which is why, misleading and deceptive Vegan Activists, selectively quote individual disease rates but not tell you their total all-cause death-rates.

All-cause Death-rate ratios:

Fish Eaters: 0.82 (0.77, 0.96)
Vegetarians: 0.84 (0.74, 0.96)
Vegans: 1.00 (0.70, 1.44)

Table 7: https://doi.org/10.1093/ajcn/70.3.516s

3: 86% Of Livestock Feed Is Not Suitable For Human Consumption.

“Livestock rely primarily on forages, crop residues, and by-products, that are not edible to humans.”
So, “cattle need only 0.6 kg of protein from human edible feed to produce 1 kg of protein in milk and meat.”
http://www.fao.org/ag/againfo/home/en/news_archive/2017_More_Fuel_for_the_Food_Feed.html

4: Sex-Sorting Eggs Before Incubation.

Fertilised eggs can be sex-sorted, before incubation, by using infra-red photography. And, so reducing the hatching and killing of male Chicks.
As well as reducing costs, by reducing the number of eggs incubated; and, the number of Chicks manually sex-sorted.

This has been done experimentally:
https://thepoultrysite.com/articles/development-of-a-method-for-early-sexsorting-of-poultry

5: Water-Efficient Cow’s Milk.

By switching to Cow’s milk, a Vegan, who drank 4 litres of soy drink per week, would save (3763-1020) x 4 = 10,972 litres of water per week.
And, 570,000 litres per year.

The average Water Footprint per litre [kilogram], of milk is 1020 litres of water.

1018 litres per litre of orange juice;
1020 litres per litre of milk;
1141 litres per litre of apple juice;
1273 litres per litre of pineapple juice;
3763 litres of water per litre of soy drink.

6: Methane Efficient Cow’s Milk.

CSIRO Scientists have found Australian red seaweeds (Asparagopsis taxiformis and A. armata) virtually eliminate methane emissions from cattle and sheep, when fed as a dietary additive at 1% of their diet by dry weight.
https://blog.csiro.au/feeding-seaweed-to-cows-our-livestock-methane-research-lights-up/

While, rice alone produces 15-20% of the annual methane [much more than Dairy-Cattle, Goats, Sheep, and Poultry, combined].

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1023/A:1009702223478

7: Cow's Milk-Drinkers Are Happier, Healthier, And Live Longer.

A meta-analyses of 400,000 people showed that people who consumed the most dairy products, had:

a) 13% lower overall death rates;
b) 8% less IHD [ischaemic heart disease];
c) 21% fewer strokes;
d) 15% less diabetes;

than people who consumed the least:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2950929/

8: Breast Cancer.

A meta-analysis, of 1.6 million women, found yogurt and low-fat dairy reduced breast cancer, while other dairy product types did not:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4705082/pdf/jbc-18-313.pdf

9: PMS.

Women who drank the most, skim or low-fat Cow’s milk, were 46% less likely to get PMS:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15956003

Is that why there are so many bad-tempered irrational Vegan women?

10: Vegans get 30% more bone fractures.

Humane, Sustainable, Healthy, Commercial Milk, Eggs, And Wool

Humane, Sustainable, Healthy, Commercial Milk, Eggs, And Wool

In my free ebook,"Humane, Sustainable, Healthy, Commercial Milk, Eggs, And Wool", which you can download free from,
 https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/681447 ,
I show how to produce healthy Animal Products, such as milk, eggs, and wool, humanely and sustainably.

And, PDF,

MORE HEALTHY

Meta-analyses show that people who drink the most milk have the lowest overall death, IHD, strokes and diabetes rates.
And, women who consume the most dairy have the lowest breast cancer and PMS rates.

MORE HUMANE

With hormonally induced lactation, you do not have to get cows pregnant, to get cows to lactate.

With infra-red photography, you can sex-sort fertile eggs before incubation, instead of killing day-old chicks after hatching.

MORE FOOD from THE SAME LAND

You can produce more food sustainably, from the same area of land, by mixed animal-plant agriculture, than by 100% plant agriculture.

By, for example, with edible fish in irrigation dams and sheep and poultry free-ranging in orchards.

WATER

It takes as much water to produce a litre of orange juice as a litre of milk.

And, by combining Poultry and Sheep with Orchards, you can reduce their Water Footprint by up to 95% to 99%.

METHANE

Rice produces half as much methane as all animal agriculture combined.

And, far more than Dairy-Cows, Poultry, Sheep, and Fish, combined.
